Our Story

What began as a simple fascination with the world of mushrooms has grown into a full-scale  commercial operation dedicated to delivering nutrient dense fungi into metro-Atlanta households and restaurants. Our founder, Wesley, found himself working at the same incubator as the owner of MycoLogic, a company building mushroom fruiting chambers fueled with technology, and fell in love with the industry of functional and culinary mushrooms. 

Wesley started his mushroom journey by foraging in the North Georgia mountains and continued by growing his own mushrooms inside a modified fruiting chamber. Thus, Local Mushrooms was created and started by selling at the Canton Farmers Market. Driven by a passion for regenerative agriculture, he came to the realization that this company should be bigger than just servicing a few people at a local farmers market.

We grow gourmet mushrooms that enrich health, elevate meals, and support a more sustainable food system. Our mission is simple:

Grow exceptional mushrooms. Plain and simple. We grow Blue Oyster, Lions Mane, Coral tooth, and Chestnut mushrooms

Support local restaurants and families. Our mission is to make nutritious mushrooms  more available

Educate our community.
